Difference between Education and Literacy
While we discuss of the basic Difference between Education and Literacy, its important to note that education is all round development of the child whereas literacy defines the rate of people literate. The Difference between Education and Literacy is widely discussed topic in the recent times. It is true that the word literacy means reading and writing but an in- depth analysis of the term indicates that reading and writing are just the tip of the iceberg. Its important to note that simply being able to read the words on page does not mean that someone is literate, whereas in the world of education today literacy is becoming more and more important.
Teachers and parents are becoming more aware of the need for literacy programs in the school. As well schools in general are beginning to realize the need for literacy development in schools and are therefore working towards creating such programs to promote literacy in and outside of the schools.

OVER POPULATION
Overpopulation is a condition where an organism's numbers exceed the carrying capacity of its habitat. The term often refers to the relationship between the human population and its environment, the Earth. Steve Jones, head of the biology department at University College London, has said, "Humans are 10,000 times more common than we should be, according to the rules of the animal kingdom, and we have agriculture to thank for that. Without farming, the world population would probably have reached half a million by now." The world’s population has significantly increased in the last 50 years, mainly due to medical advancements and substantial increases in agricultural productivity.
CHILD LABOUR
The most innocent phase in human life is the childhood. It is that stage of life when the human foundations are laid for a successful adult life. It is the phase when we are carefree, fun-loving, learning, playing… Go back into your childhood and for most of us, there are beautiful memories. And how wonderful to have grown up with such carefree abandonment while we had parents, grandparents and others looking after us. But, this is the story of not too many children.
Yes, there are far more children scarred and tormented. They hate they childhood. They would do anything to get out of the dungeons of being children and controlled and tortured by others. They want to break-free from this world. Some manage to get out and get a better life, but many continue to be where they are, not out of choice, but force.
This is the true story of child labour. There are industries and individuals, who employee young innocent children. They put them to work under grueling circumstances. They make them work for long hours weaving delicate threads to make the world’s most expensive carpets. They make them work in dangerous factory units manufacturing fireworks. They make children carry load even heavier than their own body weight.
Though there was no nationwide data on the prevalent of honour killings in India, they quoted figures compiled by the India Democratic Women's Association, according to which Haryana, Punjab and U P account for about 900 honour killings and another 100 to 300 in the rest of the country.
"The total figure for India would be about the same as estimated for Pakistan, which researchers suggest has the highest per capita incidence of honour killings in the world."
HONOUR KILLING
More than 1,000 young people in India have been done to death every year owing to 'Honour Killings' linked to forced marriages and the country needs to introduce stringent legislation to deal firmly with the heinous crime, two legal experts have claimed.
Participating in International Child Abduction, Relocation and Forced Marriages Conference organised by the London Metropolitan University here, Chandigarh-based legal experts Anil Malhotra and his brother Ranjit Malhotra have said that in traditional societies, honour killings are basically 'justified' as a sanction for 'dishonourable' behaviour.
In a joint paper, they said: "Forced marriages and honour killings are often intertwined. Marriage can be forced to save honour, and women can be murdered for rejecting a forced marriage and marrying a partner of their own choice who is not acceptable for the family of the girl. They said in India, honour killings happen with regularity in Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.
"They happen not only within the Muslim community but also among Sikhs and Hindus."

INDIA'S GREEN REVOLUTION
The world's worst recorded food disaster happened in 1943 in British-ruled India. Known as the Bengal Famine, an estimated four million people died of hunger that year alone in eastern India (that included today's Bangladesh). The initial theory put forward to 'explain' that catastrophe was that there as an acute shortfall in food production in the area. However, Indian economist Amartya Sen (recipient of the Nobel Prize for Economics, 1998) has established that while food shortage was a contributor to the problem, a more potent factor was the result of hysteria related to World War II which made food supply a low priority for the British rulers. The hysteria was further exploited by Indian traders who hoarded food in order to sell at higher prices.
Nevertheless, when the British left India four years later in 1947, India continued to be haunted by memories of the Bengal Famine. It was therefore natural that food security was a paramount item on free India's agenda. This awareness led, on one hand, to the Green Revolution in India and, on the other, legislative measures to ensure that businessmen would never again be able to hoard food for reasons of profit.

HISTORY OF INDIA
India earned its independence from the British on the 15/8/47. But the British army left India ultimately in 1950. The Indians celebrate 26/1/1950 as the Republic Day of India. On this day the Indian constitution was adopted. Until its independence in 1947, other countries which neighbor India today; Pakistan, Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan), Myanmar (formerly Burma) and distant places like Aden in present day Yemen; were all parts of British India and were all considered as India. Until then (including the British era) India was never one single country but a collection of kingdoms and authorities with no sense of unity. In this sense India as one single country is mainly a result of British rule. Before that the word India was not used to indicate the present day India, but any kingdom, culture or community that existed between present day Afganistan, in the west, up to China and Myanmar in the east.
CRICKET
The origins of cricket lie somewhere in the Dark Ages - probably after the Roman Empire, almost certainly before the Normans invaded England, and almost certainly somewhere in Northern Europe. All research concedes that the game derived from a very old, widespread and uncomplicated pastime by which one player served up an object, be it a small piece of wood or a ball, and another hit it with a suitably fashioned club.
How and when this club-ball game developed into one where the hitter defended a target against the thrower is simply not known. Nor is there any evidence as to when points were awarded dependent upon how far the hitter was able to despatch the missile; nor when helpers joined the two-player contest, thus beginning the evolution into a team game; nor when the defining concept of placing wickets at either end of the pitch was adopted.
Etymological scholarship has variously placed the game in the Celtic, Scandinavian, Anglo-Saxon, Dutch and Norman-French traditions; sociological historians have variously attributed its mediaeval development to high-born country landowners, emigré Flemish cloth-workers, shepherds on the close-cropped downland of south-east England and the close-knit communities of iron- and glass-workers deep in the Kentish Weald. Most of these theories have a solid academic basis, but none is backed with enough evidence to establish a watertight case. The research goes on.

jessica lal murder case

The Supreme Court is expected to pronounce its verdict in the Jessica Lall murder case today in which prime accused Manu Sharma has challenged his conviction and life sentence awarded by the Delhi High Court.
A Bench comprising Justices P Sathasivam and Swantanter Kumar had reserved its verdict on February 18.
Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani, appearing for Manu Sharma alias Siddharth Vasisth, had assailed the High Court verdict which had set aside the trial court judgement acquitting the accused.
He had alleged that the High Court Bench had made up its mind to hold Sharma guilty.
Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium had submitted that there was sufficient evidence against Manu Sharma for his involvement in the crime.
The prosecution had said Lall was shot dead by Manu Sharma at the Tamarind Court Cafe restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani at Qutub Colonade in South Delhi on the night of April 29, 1999.
A trial court had acquitted Sharma on February 21, 2006. This led to a huge public outcry. The Delhi High Court took suo moto notice of the acquittal and reopened the case after an appeal by the Delhi Police. Charging Manu with murder, destroying evidence and under Arms Act, the Delhi High Court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Sharma challenged the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court.
The High Court had held two other accused in the case - Vikas Yadav and Amarjeet Singh Gill - guilty of destruction of evidence. They have also challenged their conviction and four-year jail sentence.
Manu Sharma is the son of senior Haryana Congress leader Vinod Sharma while Yadav is the son of controversial Uttar Pradesh politician D P Yadav.

ARUSHI MURDER CASE
The CBI case closure report while detailing the investigation said there were no witnesses other than the parents and Hemraj.
While the crime scene had not been preserved at all, the CBI, which took up the case on June one, 2008, said things were pretty normal at Talwar's residence till 10.30 PM on the fateful day as suggested in the video camera where some pictures had been clicked.
The father was hooked on the internet till midnight, the report said.
The CBI also highlighted the fact that it was unlikely that the murderer could have killed the victim and then wrapped her body properly in a bed sheet.
The report claimed that the dentist had asked UP police team to rush after Hemraj rather than giving them sufficient time to secure the scene of crime.
It also claimed that Rajesh had failed to immediately identify the body of Hemraj found on the terrace.

3G TECHNOLOGY
3G is the third generation of wireless technologies. It comes with enhancements over previous wireless technologies, like high-speed transmission, advanced multimedia access and global roaming. 3G is mostly used with mobile phones and handsets as a means to connect the phone to the Internet or other IP networks in order to make voice and video calls, to download and upload data and to surf the net.
The first thing you require is a device (e.g. a mobile phone) that is 3G compatible. This is where the name 3G phone comes from - a phone that has 3G functionality; nothing to do with the number of cameras or the memory it has. An example is the iPhone 3G.
3G phones commonly have two cameras since the technology allows the user to have video calls, for which a user-facing camera is required for capturing him/her

understanding media
What is ur fav. T.V Programme ? What do u like listening to on the radio? Which newspaper or magazine do u usually read? Do you surf the net and wat have u found most useful abt it? Did u know dat there ie one word dat is often used to collectively refer to the radio ,tv,newspaper internet and several other forms of communication. This word is 'media'.Can u think of one thing dat u have learnt frm the media this week?Everything ranging frm the stall at the local fair to the programmedat u see on TV can be called media. TV,radio &newspapers are a form of media dat reaches millions of people, or the masses ,across the country and the world and, thus, they are called mass media.

WHAT IS LOVE
HIIIIIIEE FRNDS
Hello everybody today i wud like to discuss on a very interesting topic with u all .First of all i wud like to ask u an question dat according to u wat is luv ? Wen subbody ask u or u hear dis word wat all strikes in ur mind hmm . Ok I tell u for me luv is a beautiful word , it is a sweet pain wich i suppose everyone wanted to be a part of it.Real, true love is unconditional. All other “kinds” of love are not really love. Most parents and kids don’t love each other, most people in relationships don’t love each other, most people on the planet never experience unconditional love in their entire lives… or at least it sure looks that way.
To love someone unconditionally means that you love the person exactly as they are, exactly as they were before, and exactly as they will be in the future – because people change all the time, so if you love the person, you will love them even if they become something you disagree with. How many parents can say that about their kids? How many people can say that about their “lover”? Love is not about you or your pleasure. It’s not about what you get out of it or what the other person can give to you. It’s not about having a trophy you can show off with and tell people “This is *MY* girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband/son/daughter/whatever”. You do not “own” anyone. It’s not about you feeling ‘proud’ to be with someone who always agrees with everything you say and do and never does anything you disagree with. Unconditional love means that the person can just live their life exactly as they choose and you will always be there for them no matter what.
Relationships are like trying to put love into a box and keep it there, except love is infinitely sized, and the box is… well, there is no box large enough. And a normal, conventional marriage is quite possibly the worst possible way to show someone how much you love them.SO plz give ur opinion abt it .
